I have gone dogsledding three times in my life. The first time was at Dog Sled Rides of Winter Park, Colorado which, unfortunately, went out of business in 2019. They did a great job of training me to run the dogs. I remember the wooley Siberian Husky that greeted me at the door. She looked just like my K2. I actually fell the first time and the dogs drug me down the trail.

My second dogsled tour was with Cosmic Cruisers in Crested Butte Colorado. Again I got to run a team of huskies down the trail. They had specially bred Alaskan Huskies. They are still in business and I would recommend them.

My third trip was at Durango Dog Ranch in Telluride, Colorado. They brought a truckload of Alaskan Huskies out to the backwoods for me. My Kia Optima rental car was the only car on that snowy dirt road that did not have 4 wheel drive. I drove an 8 dog team. My lead dog, Sultan, was a veteran of the Iditarod. A great dog. I wanted to take him home with me.
