I adopted Katarina from the Denver Dumb Friends League in 1988. Now they call it Humane Colorado, but I’m sure you can still find huskies there if you want one. Nickita, my first husky, needed a friend. She was getting lonely. So I adopted Katarina, this beautiful black, bi eyed husky. Since the Winter Olympics was going on at the time, I named her after Skater Katarina Witt. The two dogs got along famously and continued to be a pair for 15 years. We had many snowy Colorado winters together and both dogs made the trip with me to Texas. Now they are buried next to each other at Pet Rest Cemetery in Sachse, Texas.
